The shock for the yesterday's match wasn't over and we got to see another shocking finish where the olayers actually finish the match for the opponent team. Yeah, today's match was also kinda similar one with some different twists.
Venue - Chennai.
SRH won the toss and asked RCB to bat first. Every team is doing the same. No one wants to defend a total.
Padikkal and Kohli opened for RCB but it wasn't Padikkal's day as he fell for just 11 runs of 13 balls in the third over. Shahbaz Ahmad was promoted up the order but couldn't contribute much as he got trapped by Nadeem and departed for 14 of 10 balls. Maxwell at number 4. Kohli and Maxwell tried building a partnership but in 13th over Kohli was dismissed by Holder and RCB was now 91-3 after 12.1 overs.
The Superman, ABD came and went back after scoring just 1 of the 5 balls he faced. That was the story of everyother batsman after Maxwell. Maxwell kept striking from one end and the wickets kept falling. Sundar and Christian departed scoring 8 runs in 11 balls and just 1 run in 2 balls respectively. Jamieson scored 12 runs of 9 balls and Finally Maxwell fell for 59 runs in 41balls. This innings by Maxwell was the match saving innings for RCB as no other batsmen scored 20 runs except Kohli (that too at a much lower strike rate.) Holder took 3 wickets and was the star from SRH side.
RCB finished with 149-8 in 20 overs.
Came in the other side, SRH. Saha and Warner came as the openers. Saha not only scored 1 run but also took 9 balls to score that and went back to pavilion. The new batsman, Manis Pandey and Warner started building a partnership where Warner was the attacking batsmen. Manish played the role of achor but wasn't able to fire anyway. They had a partnership of 83 runs and Warner scored a 50. Warner departed with a score of 57 runs in just 37 balls and SRH were 96-2 after 13.2 overs. From here it was expected that since Pandey has spent a lot of time on the crease, he will be taking SRH towards their first win in the season. Bairstow came in and both the batsman scored at run a ball strike rate. SRH was loosing its way as no one was looking to fire up and then Bairstow was dismissed by Shahbaz in 17th over's first ball. Pandey followed Bairstow scoring 38 runs of 39 deliveries. Abdul Samad was too dismissed in the same over scoring a duck. Vijay Shankar and Jason holder cound do much as they scored 3 of 5 and 4 of 5 respectively before departing. There wasnt much hope left but Rashid khan pulled back the match when he sent the first ball he faced in the stands. He was the only batsman apart from Warner who was actually interested in winning the match with the bat. Tried hard but could only score 17 of 9 balls and got run out in an attempt to take the strike in the last over. SRH could only manage to make 143 runs and lost the match by 6 runs. Absolute Blunder
As we saw in the RR vs Punjab game. both the teams tried hard to win the match and the match went on till the last ball. These are the matches which tells the opposite. Both the teams tried hard to lose.
There were a lot of blunders in RCB's innings too but SRH were so close to winning when their main batsmen didn't even try to make a difference. Credit to RCB bowlers too for keeping SRH batsmen under control. Warner did half of the work but no one was able to do the other half. The last match of SRH was the same. The scoring rate is the main problem with SRH snd they need Williamson back anyway. RCB on the other end is preoving that they have an improved death bowling and has therefore won 2 of such close games.
That was all from my side.
Comment down what you felt as the match happned and what were the problems!
