RCB vs SRH IPL Match Summary Review

Shubham Gupta

The shock for the yesterday's match wasn't over and we got to see another shocking finish where the olayers actually finish the match for the opponent team. Yeah, today's match was also kinda similar one with some different twists.

Venue - Chennai.

SRH won the toss and asked RCB to bat first. Every team is doing the same. No one wants to defend a total.

Padikkal and Kohli opened for RCB but it wasn't Padikkal's day as he fell for just 11 runs of 13 balls in the third over. Shahbaz Ahmad was promoted up the order but couldn't contribute much as he got trapped by Nadeem and departed for 14 of 10 balls. Maxwell at number 4. Kohli and Maxwell tried building a partnership but in 13th over Kohli was dismissed by Holder and RCB was now 91-3 after 12.1 overs.

The Superman, ABD came and went back after scoring just 1 of the 5 balls he faced. That was the story of everyother batsman after Maxwell. Maxwell kept striking from one end and the wickets kept falling. Sundar and Christian departed scoring 8 runs in 11 balls and just 1 run in 2 balls respectively. Jamieson scored 12 runs of 9 balls and Finally Maxwell fell for 59 runs in 41balls. This innings by Maxwell was the match saving innings for RCB as no other batsmen scored 20 runs except Kohli (that too at a much lower strike rate.) Holder took 3 wickets and was the star from SRH side.

RCB finished with 149-8 in 20 overs.

Came in the other side, SRH. Saha and Warner came as the openers. Saha not only scored 1 run but also took 9 balls to score that and went back to pavilion. The new batsman, Manis Pandey and Warner started building a partnership where Warner was the attacking batsmen. Manish played the role of achor but wasn't able to fire anyway. They had a partnership of 83 runs and Warner scored a 50. Warner departed with a score of 57 runs in just 37 balls and SRH were 96-2 after 13.2 overs. From here it was expected that since Pandey has spent a lot of time on the crease, he will be taking SRH towards their first win in the season. Bairstow came in and both the batsman scored at run a ball strike rate. SRH was loosing its way as no one was looking to fire up and then Bairstow was dismissed by Shahbaz in 17th over's first ball. Pandey followed Bairstow scoring 38 runs of 39 deliveries. Abdul Samad was too dismissed in the same over scoring a duck. Vijay Shankar and Jason holder cound do much as they scored 3 of 5 and 4 of 5 respectively before departing. There wasnt much hope left but Rashid khan pulled back the match when he sent the first ball he faced in the stands. He was the only batsman apart from Warner who was actually interested in winning the match with the bat. Tried hard but could only score 17 of 9 balls and got run out in an attempt to take the strike in the last over. SRH could only manage to make 143 runs and lost the match by 6 runs. Absolute Blunder

As we saw in the RR vs Punjab game. both the teams tried hard to win the match and the match went on till the last ball. These are the matches which tells the opposite. Both the teams tried hard to lose.
There were a lot of blunders in RCB's innings too but SRH were so close to winning when their main batsmen didn't even try to make a difference. Credit to RCB bowlers too for keeping SRH batsmen under control. Warner did half of the work but no one was able to do the other half. The last match of SRH was the same. The scoring rate is the main problem with SRH snd they need Williamson back anyway. RCB on the other end is preoving that they have an improved death bowling and has therefore won 2 of such close games.

That was all from my side.

Comment down what you felt as the match happned and what were the problems!

MI vs KKR IPL Match Summary Review

Shubham Gupta

Now, what was that! An unusual match with some extraordinary spells. Kolkata won the toss and asked Mumbai to bat first. That's such a common practice these days as all the teams love chasing.

Venue - Chepauk Stadium, Chennai, India

MI openers, Rohit Sharma and De Kock headed towards the ground. But Lynn scored 49 runs in the last match, so why did they dropped him? Can't say, may be he run out the MI captain last time. Just kidding. De Kock didnt add much to the team's total and departed scoring 2 of 6 balls. It wasd now on Hitman and the new batsman Surya Kumar Yadav. The new batsman isn't here to wait. He is here to smash. mHe smashed Harbhajan singh for 3 fours as soon as he came to the crease. When everyone was expecting a Hitman show. It was mainly the SKY took over. With Rohit scoring at steady rate, SKY went on hitting. SKY played a good innings of 56 runs of just 36 balls and departed. Ishan Kishan came, Ishan Kishan goes scoring just 1 run. When everyone was expecting Rohit to fire he was boeled by Cummings scoring 43 runs of 32 balls. Hardik Pandya didn't add much and scored 17 runs of 19 balls.

Now, there was a time for an storm to hit MI, Russell with the ball. He got Pollard and sent him back to pavilion for just 5 runs of 8 balls. Krunal tried hard to elevate the score but fell for Russell scoring 15 of 9 balls. Jansen scored a duck and guess what, the bowler was Russell. Rahul Chahar and Bumrah to couldn't stand Russell's bowling and went scoring 8 runs and a duck respectively.

Andre Russell's spell is the best spell against MI. He took 5 wickets giving avay 15 runs and that too in just 2 overs. Can you believe it! MI gifting 5 wicket hauls this year, go and grab the offer.

Final Score 152-10 Remember, it's Cheannai's Ground and these scored can be defended here.

Kolkata's innings started with Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana as their openers. The openers gave KKR a good start for chasing this score. Rana and Gill alone scored 72 runs partnership until Gill departed for 33 runs of 24 balls. Rahul tripathi departed for a cheap score of 5 in 5 balls. Similarly with Captain Morgon, he scored 7 of 7 and went back to Pavilion. Rana tried hard but the wickets kept falling on the other side and he departed as well scoring 57 runs of 47 balls. The common between all the 4 wickets was Rahul Chahar. He was the bowler responsible for breaking KKR's top order. Shakib departs scoring 9 of 9 balls. DK and Russell have to do the job for KKR. The job was almost done but the captain had some other plans. MI still believed that they have a chance. Can you imagine, a slip for Russell in T20 game in the death overs? Andre Russell who was a hero for KKR with a ball was turening into a villian with the bat. Some unusual visuals that make us feel like, no, that's not possible in any case. Russell not able to pick and bowler and same goes with Karthik. They had to score just 22 of the last 18 balls with Russell and Karthik and Russell scored just 9 of 15 deliveries and departed in the 20th over? Now what was that! Pat Cummins departed on the very next ball. DK remained not out at 8 of 11 balls and KKR lost the match by 10 runs. What a CHOKE that was.

This type of matches make people wonder what could have happened there! Literally, I was shocked and most probably everyone was! Nevertheless, that's a game and things happen. KKR will have to look into this and cannot takew what happened last night, lightly.

Batting performances were poor from both sides except for some of the inning. That's how the Chennai's ground is! It's hard for the batsmen to score.

That was all from my side!

Hope you enjoyed reading!

RR vs PBKS IPL Match Summary Review

Shubham Gupta

What a cracking game it was. An absolute thriller as it went till the last ball.

Rajasthan won the toss and asked Punjab to bat first. They got the opener, Mayank  Agarwal for just 14 runs and none other than the debutant Sakariya gave RR their first breakthrough.  Yeah, you got that right, Universal boss is here to rule the world and was on the right path. Gayle and Rahul had a partnership of 67 runs but Riyan Parag took his wicket just when he was looking dangerous for the Rajasthan team. Boss has to depart scoring 40 runs of 28 balls. Not bad? Yeah absolutely!

No one expected that they were about to witness a different kind of storm today. While KL Rahul built his innings steadily, came in the next batsman Deepak Hooda and he just went all out on bowlers smacking them all over the ground. Meanwhile KL Rahul completed his 50 runs and led the team from the front. Deepak Hooda scored his 50 in just 20 balls. He smacked Shreyas Gopal for 3 sixes in an over. KL rahul too switched the gears and just went on hitting the bowlers and the duo left bowlers clueless. They had a partnership of 105 runs. Hooda departed scoring 64 of just 28 balls. Most people know why Hooda was so hungry for runs and now we want the face off between MI and PBKS, id someone is still in confusion. Search Deepak Hooda Baroda controversy. After Hooda’s departure Rahul had the job of finishing the innings and he played all out. Pooran got a duck and Shahrukh Khan, the debutant scored 6 of 4 balls. It was KL Rahul who scored 91 of just 50 deliveries and took PBKS to a huge total of 221-6

Easy win? I don’t think so! Haven’t you watched the last years face off between the two teams?
Yeah, 2 super overs game.

Rajasthan’s innings didn’t start well as Shami got Ben Stokes out for a duck in the first over. Oh no, BEN STOKES! Manan Vohra too fell for Arshdeep scoring 12 of 8 balls. Yes, the skipper is here to save the team from a collapse along with Jos the Boss. Although, Jos did't boss much and played a cameo of 25 runs in 13 balls. Pretty bad that they lost 3rd wicket at just 70 runs. Shivam Dube was no different. Scoring 23 of 15 balls, Can’t even call it a cameo when you are targeting 222. The dance guy, Riyan Parag hit 3 sixes and 1 four in his small innings scoring 25 of just 11 balls. Come on he scored 22 runs of just the boundaries. This is what Rajasthan’s inning looked like. Samson scoring at one end and the wickets keep falling.

Guess, who is at the crease now? Last year’s Hero, Tewatia. Guess who got out now? Tewatia, scoring 2 runs of 4 balls. The problems got bigger for Rajasthan. Sanju Samson, the lone warrior, completed his 100 on his IPL Captaincy debut. Just wow!  Chris Morris, the most expensive player is on the ground now. Can he do something? I don’t know but somehow Sanju saw him scoring just 2 of the 4 balls he faced and that’s not what was expected at the death. Come on, do something you got more money than me. Lol, that was just a mild joke.

13 required in the last over. Another super over on cards? Samson, first ball – dot. Second ball – 1 Third to Morris – just 1,  Fourth ball – 6 from Samson’s bat. Then a dot. 5 required of the last ball and?

Sanju Samson out! That hurts! Samson scored 119 of just 63 deliveries. He was left in tears!

Both the team played superbly! It was a batting pitch at Wankhede. The only problem that Rajasthan went through was that no one could played a long innings as Hooda did for Punjab!

SRH vs KKR IPL Match Review Summary

Shubham Gupta

The match between KKR and SRH ended with KKR ending up on winning side. The match saw some blistering knocks by Indian players at Chennai.

Let’s see how it progressed.

SRH won the toss and chose to field. The KKR openers made a 53 run opening  until Shubman Gill fell for Rashid Khan scoring just 15 of 13 balls. Rahul Tripathi along with Nitish Rana played gem of an innings scoring 53 of just 29 balls. The big man Russell fell for just 5 runs of 5 balls but Nitish Rana kept scoring from one end until he fell into the trap of the afghan all rounder Nabi. Rana scored 80 of just 56 balls. Captain Morgon and Shakib Al Hasan couldn’t do much but Dinesh Karthik gave KKR a strong finish scoring 22 of just 9 balls and took KKR to 187-6 after 20 overs.

This is a good total at Chennai’s ground as the pitch at Chennai is a bit slow.

Time for SRH innings. Warner and Saha came in as openers but none of them could survive against KKR bowlers. While Warner was beaten by Prasidh Krishna’s pace, Saha fell for Shakib’s spin. SRH were 10-2 when Manish Pandey and Bairstow took over the responsibility of chasing down such a big total. They had a great partnership of 92 runs until Bairstow departed for 55 runs of 40 balls. Nabi couldn’t do much and departed scoring 14 of 11 balls. Vijay Shankar was no different and scored 11 of 7 and went back to the pavilion. Came in a 19 year old Abdul Samad and smashed the first ball by Cummings to a six giving some hope to SRH. He smashed 2 sixes to Cummins. 21 required of the last over but Russell didn’t let the pair hit any boundary until the last ball which went for a six from Manish Pandey’s bat. Pandey scored 61 of 44 not out while Samad scored 19 of just 8 balls but KKR won by 10 runs.

My Review

KKR played a good game except that the middle order didn’t click that much except Dinesh Karthik. For SRH, one of the main reason for this defeat was none of their openers made it count, especially Warner. Warner being their pillar, the team still struggles if Warner’s wicket falls early. The middle order of SRH is always a problem. They could have trusted Samad and have sent him above Shankar as they have already seen his six hitting capabilities at the death. One of the reasons was that SRH main pacers Bhuvneshwar and Sandeep Sharma went for too many runs. Although, Natrajan picked one wicket but went for more runs than expected.

Top Performers

KKR

Rana – 80(56)
Rahul Tripathi – 53(29)
Karthik – 22(9)

Prasidh Krishna 4-35-2-8.8

SRH

Manish Pandey 61(44)*
Bairstow 55(40)
Abdul Samad 19(8)

Rashid Khan 4-24-2-6
Nabi 4-32-2-8

This was all from my side.

Hope you enjoyed my review on today’s match
