CSK vs DC IPL Match 2 Review Summary

 

CSK vs DC was one of the most awaited match in the IPL 2021 Edition as Dhoni led CSK were against Pant led DC. This match had a great highs and lows while CSK batted but was straight road for DC.

Let's discuss the match.

Match started with CSK losing both their openers under 10 runs. for 7-2 it all depended on Chinna Thala and the new Number 3 batsmen Moeen Ali. Both of the started slow but started blasting before Ali 36(24) hit 2 back to back sixes and got out on the next ball taking CSK to 60-3. Rayudu joined Raina and played some good shots before depparting at 23 runs of 16 balls. Raina played a good innings of 54 runs of just 36 balls and fell for a run out.

MS Dhoni got out on a duck. One of the rarest events to take place. The finishing was done by Jadeja - Curran duo. Jadeja scored 26 runs of 17 balls while Sam Curran blasted with a strike rate of 227 scoring 34 of just 15 balls. Taking CSK to 188-7.

The total seemed good enough until Delhi started their innings. Prithvi Shaw and Dhawan scored 65 runs in powerplay. The duo was unstoppable and had 138 run partnership. The match was already out of chennai's hand. Prithvi shaw fell for Bravo scoring 72 of just 38 balls. Captain Pant joined Dhawan and they took delhi to 167 runs before Dhawan got lbw by Thakur. Now it wasn't much of a match. It was just a cake walk for DC. Although Thakur took Stoinis's wicket too but it was too late. DELHI WON!!!

My Review.

According to me, the department where CSK failed was taking wickets in early overs. DC were 65-0 after powerplay and the there was no looking back for Delhi Capitals. DC batsmen were explosive from the start. Dawan and Shaw took the match away from CSK. Avesh Khan was good with the ball along with Woakes. CSK lost 2 wickets in the power play which costed the 10-15 runs that could have been scored more. The slow start was one of the main reasons. Secondly, DC batsmen should be appreciated for the game they played. CSK bowlers looked clueless today. The bowling problems still continues for CSK.
