MI vs KKR IPL Match Summary Review

Now, what was that! An unusual match with some extraordinary spells. Kolkata won the toss and asked Mumbai to bat first. That's such a common practice these days as all the teams love chasing.

Venue - Chepauk Stadium, Chennai, India

MI openers, Rohit Sharma and De Kock headed towards the ground. But Lynn scored 49 runs in the last match, so why did they dropped him? Can't say, may be he run out the MI captain last time. Just kidding. De Kock didnt add much to the team's total and departed scoring 2 of 6 balls. It wasd now on Hitman and the new batsman Surya Kumar Yadav. The new batsman isn't here to wait. He is here to smash. mHe smashed Harbhajan singh for 3 fours as soon as he came to the crease. When everyone was expecting a Hitman show. It was mainly the SKY took over. With Rohit scoring at steady rate, SKY went on hitting. SKY played a good innings of 56 runs of just 36 balls and departed. Ishan Kishan came, Ishan Kishan goes scoring just 1 run. When everyone was expecting Rohit to fire he was boeled by Cummings scoring 43 runs of 32 balls. Hardik Pandya didn't add much and scored 17 runs of 19 balls.

Now, there was a time for an storm to hit MI, Russell with the ball. He got Pollard and sent him back to pavilion for just 5 runs of 8 balls. Krunal tried hard to elevate the score but fell for Russell scoring 15 of 9 balls. Jansen scored a duck and guess what, the bowler was Russell. Rahul Chahar and Bumrah to couldn't stand Russell's bowling and went scoring 8 runs and a duck respectively.

Andre Russell's spell is the best spell against MI. He took 5 wickets giving avay 15 runs and that too in just 2 overs. Can you believe it! MI gifting 5 wicket hauls this year, go and grab the offer.

Final Score 152-10 Remember, it's Cheannai's Ground and these scored can be defended here.

Kolkata's innings started with Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana as their openers. The openers gave KKR a good start for chasing this score. Rana and Gill alone scored 72 runs partnership until Gill departed for 33 runs of 24 balls. Rahul tripathi departed for a cheap score of 5 in 5 balls. Similarly with Captain Morgon, he scored 7 of 7 and went back to Pavilion. Rana tried hard but the wickets kept falling on the other side and he departed as well scoring 57 runs of 47 balls. The common between all the 4 wickets was Rahul Chahar. He was the bowler responsible for breaking KKR's top order. Shakib departs scoring 9 of 9 balls. DK and Russell have to do the job for KKR. The job was almost done but the captain had some other plans. MI still believed that they have a chance. Can you imagine, a slip for Russell in T20 game in the death overs? Andre Russell who was a hero for KKR with a ball was turening into a villian with the bat. Some unusual visuals that make us feel like, no, that's not possible in any case. Russell not able to pick and bowler and same goes with Karthik. They had to score just 22 of the last 18 balls with Russell and Karthik and Russell scored just 9 of 15 deliveries and departed in the 20th over? Now what was that! Pat Cummins departed on the very next ball. DK remained not out at 8 of 11 balls and KKR lost the match by 10 runs. What a CHOKE that was.

This type of matches make people wonder what could have happened there! Literally, I was shocked and most probably everyone was! Nevertheless, that's a game and things happen. KKR will have to look into this and cannot takew what happened last night, lightly.

Batting performances were poor from both sides except for some of the inning. That's how the Chennai's ground is! It's hard for the batsmen to score.

That was all from my side!

Hope you enjoyed reading!
